I removed a lot of old "places" from Google Earth and now BC can't find Google Earth. I reinstalled GE and that didn't help. What do I need to do? FYI - I'm still launching Google Earth manually, did that problem ever get fixed?

I also cannot view GE in BC. BC says it is not available, but GE is open and available!
I thought Google had resolved this but maybe not. Anyway, try this method:
From the Command Prompt type the following as applicable and press ENTER: (Make sure you are in the C:\ root directory)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth Pro\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer (works with Google Earth Pro in Win 7...10)
"C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth Pro\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer (Google Earth Pro in XP)
"C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer (Google Earth in XP)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer (Google Earth non-Pro on Win 7, 8.x and 10)
Note for those not used to using the command line in Windows, the double quotes in all of the examples are critical. They MUST be there and in the indicated places or you'll get an error that the directory name is invalid. It won't harm anything; it simply won't work.
That used to work for those having issues, maybe Google have screwed up something else. Have you tried an uninstall of both BaseCamp and Google Earth, followed by a reinstall of BC and then GE?
Note you'll have needed to close BC and then reopen it, did you do that?

I uninstalled GE and that didn't work! Have my doubts re:uninstalling BC. Something updated? Robert
Then I'm out of ideas. It should work but individual PCs can have odd problems, and remotely diagnosing those is pretty nigh impossible. Your best bet is to phone Product Support and see if they can help.
