Published Adventure defaulting to US-ft; I would like it be CAN-meters

I am in Canada and in the past once I published my adventure and viewed it online the language would be English and I would see the measurements in miles and feet. I could change this by changing the language to say French and the measurements would be in metric. (Flawed System but I kept hoping it would change).
So today when I published and viewed online there was no choice for language. Now there is a country. (Mine is defaulting to United States) Also in the web address for my adventure it is en-US. eg. http://adventures.garmin.com/en-US/by/don-and-normajean/mcculloch-lake-snowshoe-jan-8-2017/#.WHLgvlMrIdU . I tried using the drop down menu and changing that to Canada but my Adventure disappears and it goes to the Garmin Adventure home page.

1. So how do I change my default publishing to Canada and therefore hopefully metric? (my Basecamp settings are metric)
2. Is there another way to view my adventure in metric?
  • It may be that Garmin is finally getting around to fixing this issue and the current view is an intermediate step to the final fix. You can always search for the Adventure in BaseCamp and see some of the summary data displayed in the measurement units of BaseCamp. Downloading the Adventure should provide all the information, except for the map, and it will also display in the units of BaseCamp.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping to see the metric online as I publish these for my friends that don't use basecamp. I have been wondering why no responses to this question, maybe I am the only one with this issue?
  • No, failure to show English language with metric units has been a problem since Adventures first became available. The inability to change languages is new. That is why I thought it may be that they are in the process of changing the web page which could include a fix for this issue.

It would not be a bad idea for those who suffer from this issue to complain to Garmin support through the USA website. This is something that should have been addressed a long time ago.

    Response from Garmin

Slightly confusing responses from Garmin but finally got a straight answer.

"Unfortunately, the unit of measurement for Garmin Adventures will always default to statute instead of metric as this is independent from the settings in BaseCamp. The website link will always show en-US in the link as the server for publishing Adventures is in the US. I have confirmed with my support team that there is no way to change these at this time but, have made the suggestion that it would be helpful to have an option to edit this."

So basically nothing you can do about it.
