how do i get basecamp to keep on a ahiking trail without including nearby roads etc

I am trying to map a route for hiking, but each time I try basecamp includes nearby roads etc which I have not clicked. its quite frustrating I have tried turning off various roads in route properties but to no avail
can anyone help

The 100k map isn't routeable so BaseCamp, or indeed any mapping program, cannot produce routes on it unless you use Direct Activity.

Ahh, I saw the trail on there and could click on it. So, I assumed it could be used for routing. I'll do the track method then.
