Is there an icon or other way to find your current location on the maps? When you start a route it's usually from where you are currently located but I have to go to google for coordinates and go from there.

No. Basecamp does not pull a GPS location, a cell tower location (even if your PC happens to have a GPS) or a WAN server location. But you can as youve mentioned enter an address, a GPS coordinate or simply enter a starting point directly onto the map graphically using the mouse with the 'New Route" function
......or enter a Waypoint on the map using the mouse with the "Waypoint" function.
A GPS coordinate can be entered using the functions Find/locate coordinates.
An address can be entered in several ways........using the Find Address function or enter the address as a starting point using the Waypoint function.
