I know this is not the sub-forum where this is discussed, but it won't let me post to the correct one. I am new at GPS and just purchased a Montana 680T. I am, however, fairly proficient with ArcMap. I commonly use high resolution aerial images as a backdrop in ArcMap and want to be able to bring these images and shapefiles into my GPS unit. I figured out how to convert a set of shapefiles into a set of tracks, but I can't find how to bring in the photo. I thought a custom map might do it, managed to create the .kmz file using a program called DRNGPS and I placed that file in the Custom Map folder in the GPS unit. But how do I bring that map onto the screen? On the screen in the GPS where I can choose maps to activate, it does not show me that file. I know I am probably missing something really obvious, but I would greatly appreciate some help.
It's been a long time since I made Custom Maps but one of the restrictions I recall was that the map had to be 100 "tiles" (of jpg files I think) or less.
