Issues when Ejecting Montana 600 from BaseCamp/PC

I currently have a Montana 600.

When I plug it into my PC the Garmin USB screen comes up and all works as it should. I can transfer to and from etc to the device and edit my tracks or way points as I like.

When I go to eject to the device I am doing this first in Base camp, and I get the message that Base camp is finished with the device. I then eject it from the PC and I get the message safe to eject device as well. When I unplug the GPS the USB screen/symbol stays up on the GPS screen. I have tried to power up the unit and it will not work. The only way I have been able to get rid of this symbol is by removing the battery and putting it back in, then the GPS works as normal. This happens everytime.

This may be more of an issue with the GPS then Base camp but I was not sure where to post this as I could not see a specific section for the Montana. Mods if I posted in the wrong area feel free to move to the correct area.

Anyone have any advice on this issue?
  • FAILED issue where touching the screen would wake up the unit when it was in batter

    Dear all,

I've upgraded my Montana 680 T to firmware 2.70 and i regreted it!
One of supposed fixes was an issue with tapping the screen:
Changes made from version 2.60 to 2.70:
Fixed issue where touching the screen would wake up the unit when it was in battery save mode.

    It was GREAT!
I used this "bug" / great function while biking or walking. When not in use, my Montana went to sleep (while still recording and tracking) and saved energy. And when I wanted to know, where I am, I simply had to tap the screen to wake it and see. And then after 15 seconds setted by me in preferences screen went to sleep saving battery again!!!

I was GREAT!!!!! Make it as optional function again, PLEASE!

Dear Admin, forward this message to development team, please! I would gladly see it in 2.80 again, and I think, many other users too.
Now I succesfully downgraded my Montana to 2.60 back again.

    Cheers,
    Breshnew
  • Yes, I downgraded also ... Although you can wake up the screen with the new update by tapping the power button. However this is the BaseCamp forum. Please send your suggestion to http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/
