When using waypoints to create routs the way points are not in sequence, any way to move them?
  • Sure ... Although I'm not quite clear what you're trying to do? If you have a route showing on your map and you want to move waypoints you just select the route by clicking on it with the hand tool, then select the move tool, click on the point then drag it to where you want it.

If you want to move the order the route visits waypoints open the route properties by double clicking it then use the up/down arrows on the right hand side to move the waypoint position in the route.

    Hello Clydeca,

I assume you want them in sequence along the route. To do that you need to rename the waypoints. Keep in mind that BaseCamp is one giant database. I have many routes and each one has a separate group of waypoints starting with "01". There can be only 1 waypoint named "01" so I assign a specific letter prefix "A" to all waypoint names that go with route "A". So the waypoints for route "A" become A-01, A-02, etc and they all show up in sequence. Waypoints for route "B" are B-01, B-02, etc.

This sounds like this what I need to do, but can't find route properties.
  • Double click on the route in the lower left hand pane or right click it and select Open ....

The waypoints do not have numbers, only the point on the route.

Using the waypoints the route shows on the map but not in my collection as a route.
  • If the route is showing on the map, it can be opened using the selection tool (looks like arrow). With the selection tool, click anywhere on the route in the map pane. You should get a pop-up ballon which will contain the Route name, click on the route name to open the properties window.

If you have My Collection selected in the top left pane, but are not seeing it listed in the lower left pane, the chances are you have used the filter tool to list only one type of object (Route, Track, etc), all object types will be visible on the map. The filter tool looks like a funnel in the lower right of the lower left pane. Make sure you have the icon that looks like a piece of paper selected.

Alternatively, you can click on the tab on the middle left side of the map pane. This will swap the lower left and map panes. You should see object icons with numbers after them. Again, choose the paper icon to list everything or the Route icon to list just the routes.
