Basecamp routes saved to Zumo350LM sd card

When I have finished creating routes and trips in Basecamp I save to my Zumo350LM sd card.
However when I want these for my journey my zumo moves them to it's internal storage which is now full. My sd card is empty.

Is there a way of running maps/routes/journeys from my sd card or do these always need transferring to view the maps?
Thanks for any advice.

Normally routes will remain on the card, and in any case don't take up much space. If you're short of space on your device you can move the maps to your card.

Can I just drag n drop, within Basecamp, "City Navigator Europe NTU 2017.2" from Zumo 350 to Memory card?

The map files will be in the hidden .system folder on your device and need to be placed in a Garmin folder on the card.No, you'll need to manually move the map files from your device to the card using Windows Explorer.

Alternatively use JaVaWa's Device manager to do it for you http://www.javawa.nl/jdm_en.html

Well I would use Windows but cannot find the system folder even though have checked "show all hidden folders"

In Windows, you also need to uncheck the folder option for "Hide protected operating system files".

Still no system files found! Are they a specific file extension? Maybe find them if I know what to look for.

Its a folder not a file. If you have Windows set to show both hidden and system files/folders you should see the .system folder.

If not and your zumo uses mtp mode you'll need to switch it to mass storage mode.

Sorry about my ignorance! How do I swap to mass storage mode?

Not quite sure on a zumo 350 but probably:

1. Bring up the volume screen on the GPS.

2. On the upper right hand corner. Press your finger on screen and hold for appx 10 seconds.

3. Shortly you will see the developers screen.

4. Find MTP Settings and touch it.

5. It will show 3 selections. MTP Auto Detect,Mass Storage and Mass Storage Single Session.

6. Touch Mass Storage as your selection.

7. Now select save and you are good to go.
