Next silly question - Short Term fix to make the route take a path I know is there?

Hi all,

So having seen the easy solution to my last problem, I now have this one.

On the attached picture, there are 2 existing paths, leading up to the motorway. Now I know (because I was there yesterday) that there is a continuation of those paths that leads under the motorway and links the two. I am sure it was paved, but definitely well developed.

I will look into adding this to the openmaps, but in the mean time is there a way to force Basecamp to route across there? I have got to there on the route I want to take, but when I try to click the other side, it takes me back out of the park, and around the main roads, over the motorway, and back down the paths to that point, rather than just under the bridge?

I added a track (the yellow path) thinking this would do it, but the routing ignores it.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

  • Yes, just use direct activity for that section, to do so:

Open the route properties, either by double clicking the route in the lower left hand pane or right click and select open.

Find the point on your route where you want Direct activity to start. Right click and select Edit via point. Use the drop down box to select Direct.

The caveat here is I don't have your GPS so unsure whether the direct route will be ignored or not on your device.

    Thanks so much!

Given this section is like 20 metres long, I was thinking that it would probably be ok, if I picked the next viapoint 100 metres or so up the road, by the time i got there, it would re-route me back onto the normal route? I can try anyway!

Again thanks so much for your help.
