Garmin Zumo devices not recognized

Since I got such great information on a recent inquiry to this forum I shall try again on a different issue.

When I connect my Garmin Zumo to my computer it doesn't recognize it. This means I can't update the maps or do transfers. When I use my wife's computer it works just fine. Both run Win10. Is there some setting deep within the appdata that needs to be switched on?
