BaseCamp Shows Flash Drives as Devices

When I connect my nuvi 2789 to my Win 10 computer and start BaseCamp, Basecamp also shows two USB flash drives as devices (with empty folders for each). These flash drives have nothing to do with BaseCamp or my nuvi.....I actually use them to backup various data files (Word, Excel, etc.).

Is there a way to delete these two flash drives from my Devices list, as they just clutter up things?

Thank you in advance.
  • I don't believe there is other than removing them. I have one plugged into a rear port on my PC and use it as a backup for word and in BaseCamp as it has various maps on it.

    Physically Remove?

I assume you mean physically remove them from the USB ports? I really don't want to do that as the ports are hard to get to.....my tower is on the floor under my desk, the ports are in the rear, and my old knees ain't what they use to be.

Unlike in your situation, neither flash drive contains anything related to BaseCamp or Garmin, so I don't understand why BaseCamp even detects them. Why would that be?

Basecamp only looks for removable drives. It doesn't look for navigation units.

This lets people who have purchased Garmin maps on microSD cards to use them directly in their computers (which is much faster than using them through the navigation unit).
