Selecting multiple tracks

I am using XP SP3 (yes, I know it is out of date) with V4.2.5 Basecamp.
When I have highlighted one track, I am unable to control-click on another track (I am doing so on the panel on the left side).
It just changes to the other track. I can't get two highlighted.
So I cannot join the two tracks.
I have the one track from a hike before lunch. I turned off the garmin until after lunch and then turned it back on at the same location.
I did this to save battery which was running low.
I have reinstalled Basecamp and still cannot select multiple tracks with a ctrl-click.
Any ideas? Thanks.

It could be a keyboard issue. Try using the other crtl key. If that works, compressed air or a vacuum might fix the other key.

If all else fails, move the tracks to an empty list and use Edit>Select All from the top menu. You can also access the Advanced>Join Selected Tracks from the same menu.

Work-around worked

Other Ctrl key did no better. Ctrl keys also work fine in other applications.
Your suggestion for a work-around did work.
Can also simply right click on the highlighted tracks to get to join menu.

If you did an uninstall before doing the reinstall, I would give Garmin support a call and see if they can help.

If not, backup your data and give uninstall, system restart and a fresh installation a shot.

Joining Tracks

I did not uninstall when I reinstalled. Your work-around worked.
I don't see this as coming up again, so I am not going to worry with backing up, uninstalling, etc.

Selecting multiple tracks

If picking multiple items in the list pane, CTRL-Click works for me. SHIFT-Click selects everything in between the first and last selection.

If I'm picking multiple items on the map itself, CTRL-Click does nothing, but SHIFT-Click will allow selecting multiple items. It's odd that it's different between list view and map view. You're not by any chance trying CTRL-Click on the map view?

Ive always had to use "Hold Shift key+ mouse click" in order to select multiple tracks. I have Basecamp version 4.6.2

You should be able to use both shift and control + click, just as in most Windows programs. Ctrl + click allows you to select one by one, shift + click allows you to block select.

I have the same problem: I cannot multiple select tracks with ctrl or shift. I have many many tracks and I cannot multi select.Only one by one. I have uninstalled and installed BC 3 times, but it does not work. crtl and shift works fine in all other programs. Garmin support chat... never available. Mail support, been waiting for days. HELP!
