Send to device

This is driving me nuts and I hope someone can help....

I set up a route in Basecamp on my Windows PC. I connect my Nuvi 42 to the PC and I select 'send to' in Basecamp and send the route to the Nuvi 42.

On the left of the Basecamp screen I click on the Nuvi 42 Internal Storage link and the route duly appears as being installed there.

I safely remove the Nuvi 42 from the PC and........it doesn't have the route in it.

I've been round this time and time again and loked at every which way, but every time I disconnect the Nuvi 42 from the PC it deletes anything I have 'sent to' it from Basecamp.

What am I doing wrong?

Just that your nuvi is a basic model so cannot read routes sent by BaseCamp.

Ah, OK that figures, but a bit disappointing.

I'd have thought that BaseCamp would know its got a device connected which can't read a 'send to' and that it would pop up a little window to tell me that instead of telling me that it's done the 'send to' and showing that the route is available in the 'incompatible' Nuvi 42.

Well some detail from the file can be read, just not the route.
