Trip Planner reimport deleted route

Device: Drivesmart 50lmt
Software version: 3.50

Question: Unit imports routes successfully from new .gpx file either in the unit storage or sdcard. Suppose one of the routes is deleted from trip planner - either intentionally or unintentionally. How does one reimport the route?

With the old Routes feature (older units) there was a manual import data option. Trip planner does not appear to support this or have a refresh option. After much trial and error I discovered that if the same file is located elsewhere in the storage, the unit will pick it up. Elsewhere meaning a different folder than originally. The is a clunky work around if a computer is available but doesn't work too well in the field.

Rebooting the unit, removing & reinstalling the memory card does nothing.

Is there some way of triggering the import of routes (or other data) that doesn't currently exist in the unit's memory?

Any other work arounds?

There is no manual import on the current devices. Import happens automatically.

^^Yes, if it's a new file or in a different location.

How does one reimport a deleted route?

If you delete a route it's gone.

The difference though is that the older style devices only allowed you to have a small number of routes imported at the same time, so you needed sometimes to delete a number so you could import others. Modern devices can have 100s of routes so unless you really want to delete them there is no need to.

That makes sense, somewhat. I suppose if it let you organize them it would make even more.. Sifting through a number of routes to find the right one can be a challenge. I don't recall seeing an option to create folders (within trip planner).

Unfortunately not.

It would be good if the trips were at least sorted nearest to furthest as they are on the Garmin handheld range, but as it's alphabetical it can be a pain searching through them. Maybe something to raise at http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/
