Removal of old maps in BaseCamp

I have a small hard drive (100GB) on a Dell PC under Windows 7. I'm running out of disk space and I notice that older versions of my Garmin maps are stored on the HD. Is it possible to just remove the old versions, or will that cause problems?

If you're not using the maps they can safely be removed, you should find them listed in Control panel, Programs, Uninstall a program

Thanks I tried that but the maps are not listed as Programs, only Basecamp itself.

Can I delete them using Windows Explorer?

Yes that will be fine too. Or you can use JaVaWas GMTK programming
