Uploading Maps from SD card to Device

Hello forum members,
I am new to using my husband's Montana 650. Is it possible to upload the maps I have purchased on SD cards to the device so that the device can be used without the cards being inserted? The device already has N.America preloaded and they shows in Basecamp, and depending on which card is inserted, it shows in base camp as well. I have had no luck in copying from the sd card to the device either with the menu or with drag and drop. What should I being doing if this is indeed possible? Thanks.

I'm afraid not, cards bought on cards are locked to those cards, otherwise everyone could copy them.

sooo....if I buy a downloadable map

will I be able to make a back-up copy on my computer in case I somehow delete/damage the copy from my device?

View TOPO Maps on SC card

For the TOPO map I have purchased, after inserting the SD card into the device, I cannot figure out how to view the maps...can someone give me the menu sequence to show them?

You can backup the files, yes. Also note you can back up the files from your sd card, but they will only work on the original card.

You may need to enable it in map settings. Note you will also need to disable the NA map, otherwise it may display on top of, and hide, the topo map
