Having Issues Importing Custom Map from Google Earth

I'm new to this so bear with me.

So I'm trying to get and NPS trail map of the Smokies onto my 64st. I went downloaded a pdf of the park from the NPS website, converted it to a jpg and overlayed it onto google earth and lined everything up. Saved it as a .kmz and tried to import it into basecamp. That's where I'm running into issues. I attatched some pictures.

There are some very strict rules about custom maps, check here to ensure you followed them all

Thanks for the guidelines.

I'm pretty sure I've followed all the guidelines though. Anyone with any experience in this care to share some advice?

Not sure what you mean by experienced :)

I've created numerous custom maps and not had any issues, but then I know I've followed the rules. Being 'pretty sure' you've followed them indicates you might not have, so first I suggest you make sure everything is correct at your end.

I got the smoky mountains pdf, took a snapshot of the map at about 200% zoom level and got a 4770 x 3483 pixel jpg, created the image overlay in google earth, manually making the roads match the ones in the map, and opened the file into basecamp, it was loaded fine, however in order for this file to be correctly displayed on your 64st device, the map needs to be split into smaller 1000 x 1000 pixel tiles. for that, I normally use thye mapc2mapc software http://www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping/
which allows you to calibrate and write kmz map files with the map areas already split according to the devices requirement, here you can get the calibrated map I quickly made:

if you import it into basecamp and go to the properties of the custom map, you should see 20 images each of about 0.8 megapixels
