Trail System

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the best way to put a trail system onto my etrex 20x? The trail system is basically a random network of trails (spiderweb like). So when its loaded into base camp it wants to treat every segment as an individual track. This leads to problems because there are about 250+ segments, which isn't great when having to turn on multiple tracks.

I created this file in a ESRI shapefile format and converted it to kml to get onto GPS.

Any advice would be great. I feel like I'm overlooking something real simple - when I'm searching forums or web I can't find much which leads to me to think I'm not using the proper language because I'd think this would be straight forward.

The only way that I see you can solve your problem is to join same trail's segments together. You highlight the segments, and right click and select join select tracks. A dialog will pop-up and you arrange the tracks in the proper order. Once the segments are join, you can get rid of the individual tracks. This should reduce the number tracks that gets upload to your GPS.
