the vehicle profile cannot be found select another profile for this trip

I am importing from gpx files into BaseCamp but I have to make it the profile walking not driving because if I chose Driving the route is changed to another streets .
When I send the route to the device I am facing that message the vehicle profile cannot be found select another profile for this trip .
Any solutions??

What device are you using? There shouldn't be an issue sending any route from BC to a Garmin device.

At least I've never seen or heard of any issues like this.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that model so there may be some problem with it and BaseCamp. Hopefully one of the developers will chime in.

The dezl doesn't support the walking activity profile so you'll need to convert the route to another profile. I would do this in BaseCamp. First make a duplicate of the route, change the color of the new route so you can see any differences easily, then change its activity profile. Now drag the new route, placing shaping points where necessary to have it follow the original. Keep in mind that the walking activity profile likely does not consider one way streets so you may not be able to duplicate it exactly.

Can you tell a way of converting the profile from walking to any other profile supported by the dezl without changing the routes streets ??? Which models that support walking profile ??? It is not easy to compare both routes with driving / walking and redesign it again . Is there an easy way to the dezl model ? Is there a way of transferring a route from waling to driving without changing it ? OR should I buy a new garmin that support walking profile ?????

I'm still unclear why the profile is causing an issue. BC sends a gpx file and whatever profile I've used has never caused an issue on my nuvis or handhelds.

I discovered a way to forbid the dezl from amending the route by converting the route into track . Any further help ???? but still how can I deal with the profile ???

Not familiar with the Dezl but since its claim to fame is its special truck, trailer, etc. routing functions perhaps it is limited in vehicle profiles to those built in to the device?

Is it possible to plug the Dezl into the computer and use the maps on the Dezl as you plan your routes to perhaps force Basecamp into using Profiles on the device?

Also have you scrolled through the Profiles available in Basecamp with the Dezl plugged in to see if the are any available that match up?

Worthwhile trying but as I've already pointed out a gpx file sent to a device, regardless of the profile used in BaseCamp, should simply work in a Garmin device. It may not match the expected route, but I wouldn't expect an error about profiles. But we're all guessing here as none of us seem to have that model apart from the OP :)

I've done a test though on a nuvi, creating a trip in BaseCamp using the camper profile, sending it to my nuvi (which doesn't have a camper profile) and didn't get any error message about incorrect profiles.
