Difference between BC activity profiles

Please would someone explain in simple terms what the practical differences are between (a) "Bicycling" and "Tour cycling", (b) "Driving" and "Motorcycling" and (c) "Walking", "Hiking" and "Mountaineering" are. I have not found a description of what the practical differences are. I would like to understand what the implications are both inputting in BC, and perhaps more importantly when transferring for use to a 64S.

Thanks
  • I don't believe there is one. Bear in mind these are just suggestions. Have a look at the avoidance and routing settings in them to see the differences.

Personally I've just used them as starting position for creating my own to suit what I want them to do. Even then the end result is map dependant as BC can only work with the data provided by the map you're using.

Thanks. I did wonder if the settings were all that made the difference, but allowing you to fine tune for particular activities. I had hoped there was something more than that though.
