Invert Route 'issue'

Hi
I've noticed that when I select a route and then invert it, it does not then come out as an exact reversal of the same route. It seems to decide of it's own accord on some new an alternative roads. Any idea why this is and also how to get a route reversed so it stays as an exact match of the original route, using the same roads?
many thanks
John:)
  • Reversing a route will often produce a different result as the routing engine takes account of things like one way streets, via points on divided highways etc. The only way to get in the same is to compare the two and make changes if you can.

thanks.Yes, I thought that might be the case and on one route I've done exactly as you suggested.
    cheers

  • Have you tried converting the route to a track and then invert the track? I find using tracks far more reliable than using routes. When I transfer the tracks to my Edge 1000, they are always perfectly followed. If ever I transfer a route, then I tend to find that the device likes to change the route slightly. Once you've inverted the track you could convert it back to a route, however, the risk of it changing again would still be there.
