Whats up with "Archive"?

In an "adventure properties" display there is an archive selection.
When "Archive" is moused over the message appears: "Archive this adventure so others cant find it."
When "Unarchive" is moused over the message appears: "Unarchive this adventure so others cant find it."

What does archive and unarchive do? Is the message just a bug?

Not really a bug, since people will not be able to find your Adventure, regardless. This has been an issue for more than two years now, and Garmin 'software engineers' continue to ignore it, as usual. They love to start new products and services, but almost always fall flat on their face when it comes to execution and completion.

I understand if Unarchived the Adventure would not be found. I confirmed this works or if I Unarchive the Adventure is no longer found during a search.
However, this issue is that Basecamp provides the same user statement for 2 different conditions. If Archive or Unarchive is selected the Basecamp response is "[Archive or Unarchive]......this adventure so others cant find it." That should be a simple fix.

atlas_cached was indulging in black humour. Eg. It makes no difference whether you archive or unarchive the adventure, the adventure will not be found.

So, as it stands, the response you see is literally correct, even if it's rather stupid and the text display for one or the other should likely be changed and it should be easy to do.

    ...ken...
  • The archive function works. When I unarchived my own Adventures it not longer appeared in a search of my user name. When archived back again, it would appear in a search of my user name.
