I think my computer meets the installation requirements for BaseCamp version 4.5.2.1:

• Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1 or later is required. Earlier Machines With operating systems can use BaseCamp 4.2.5.
• .NET framework 4.6 is required. A current version of .NET will be installed if needed.
• Windows Media Player 11 or greater is required (a free download from Microsoft).
• 1 GB of system memory is required, 2 GB of system memory is recommended When using BirdsEye Imagery or Garmin Custom Maps.
• A video card supports OpenGL That version 1.3 or later is needed to enable the 3D view.

The characteristics of my system are:

• windows7 ultimate 32-bit SP1
• AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra
• Windows Media version 12.0.7601.17154
• My graphics card is OpenGL version 2.1

As for the framework, the verification tool tells me:

• Install state for .NET Framework 1.0: not installed.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 01] Install state for .NET Framework 1.1: installed with service pack 1.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 01] Install state for .NET Framework 2.0 with service pack 2 installed.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 01] Install state for .NET Framework 3.0: installed with service pack 2.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 01] Install state for .NET Framework 3.5 with service pack 1 installed.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 01] Install state for .NET Framework 4 Client: With no service packs installed.

• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 02] Install state for .NET Framework 4.6: With no service packs installed.
• [02/08 / 16,11: 34: 02] Install state for .NET Framework 4.6.1: not installed.

----------------------------------

If I try to install other versions as ancient recommended BaseCamp 4.2.5 (also tried hard to 3.2.2., 4.0.5, 4.1.1, 4.3.3 or 4.5.1), let me install (provided clean facilities, removing registry entries and any other program with Revo Uninstaller) but when you open the program I get an error window with the following message:

"A new version of BaseCamp (4.5.2.1) is available for download.
Download the latest version. "

Also as I read on the forums I tried deleting the user user.config / ususario Name / AppData / Local / Garmin_Corp / BaseCamp.exe_Url _....... / nº version /

The result has been that I can not open the program, I would appreciate any help as I need to be running the basecamp as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

  • I had a similar report a few years back, traced to an incorrect graphics driver installed by Toshiba as 'standard'. Check your graphics driver is the correct one for the installed card, and ensure it's up to date.
