Create New Route Wizard Lost!

BC 4.5.2
Windows 10

Hi All,

I recently ticked the box to say "Don't show this box" (or something similar) in the create route wizard window - this is the window that allows you to name or drag the start and end points of a new route. Problem is, I now can't see any way of opening the wizard as when I now select 'route' from the tools menu or File > New > Route, I only get the pen pointer.

Anyone know how I can get it back again please?

Thanks,

Andy

In my Win 10 system there is this file:

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\GARMIN_Corp\BaseCamp.exe_Url_urbejbdz42c555ix3xqbitecusqt0tuj\4.5.2.1\user.config

with this entry near the end of the file:

    "ShowRouteCreationDialog"

You need to set its Value to True.

(If you are not familiar with this type of editing then I suggest you first create a backup)
  • Or, within BaseCamp click Edit in the tool bar, then Options/General/Reset Options.

This does reset all your options though.
  • Thanks

Thank you tranquilo2 - that worked perfectly.

Thanks AMBreezly too - I concluded that a full reset might be the only option but wanted to avoid it if possible. At least I now know where the config file is kept.

There is a recently added menu item at Edit -> Create New Route... that will allow you to do this without resetting your options.
