Basecamp and Zumo 660LM/590LM question

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but I couldn't find a motorcycle specific forum area so please forgive me if I have missed it.
Basically I bought a Tom Tom Rider 400 and tried to use it in France for a series of tours over a 9 day trip, I spent many hours using Tyre Pro to plan each day and was excited to try them out. However no matter what I did I couldn't prevent the Rider 400 from changing the route based on it's preferences, the main problem I had was I had some motorway and some back roads in the route but the Rider 400 would ignore the back roads and use all motorway for the route! If then turned off motorways it would ignore the motorway bit and use all back roads! When I got back home I proceeded to do a series of test routes all with the same results and after many emails to Tyre support (Tom Tom said they couldn't help with Tyre as it is an independent company, even though they recommend and provide a free Pro licence for it) the conclusion was I needed to use lots of waypoints to force the Rider 400 to follow my route but then it announced every single waypoint, which would be very tedious on a 250 mile trip. After many more emails to Tyre I was told I needed to save and upload the file as a GPX track not the native Tom Tom file, this worked but now it didn't announce any waypoints and I rode past a couple of places I wanted to stop at! The bottom line is I can't actually do what I want with it so I have had to sell it at a loss of almost £100.00. So before I spend my hard earned cash on a Zumo my question to you all is can I plan a route in Basecamp using a mixture of motorways and back roads, can this route have a few places (waypoints) that I want to stop at along the route and tell me when I have arrived at them and finally if I load this route into a Zumo 660 or a Zumo 590 will it be the same route? Thanks for reading this and any insight or help will be very much appreciated.
Regards, Derek
