I just got my Garmin 64ST, installed the City Navigator maps and also a 32GB micro SD card. The problem is I'm not seeing the card listed in Basecamp. Am I missing something here or have I done something wrong? Also in Windows Explorer it only shows the basic 8GB's.
If the card isn't showing in Basecamp or Explorer something is wrong, either with the card or the card slot in your device. Is the card inserted correctly into your 64? If you're sure it is then see if the card shows in Explorer if you connect it directly to your PC via a card reader. If it doesn't the card is faulty, if it does it is most likely your 64.
OK I got the card working, but here's my next issue. In Basecamp how do I get it to actually work. I'm trying to download the Birdseye Imagery and it says not enough storage. I'm at another loss now.
Yes, I see from your post on another forum the card wasn't seated correctly.
As for your Birdseye problem, the error message doesn't say not enough storage, it says you've exceeded the download limit and you need to reduce the area or select a lower detail level.
Get what to use the SD card? It's showing in BaseCamp and you have it selected. Just adjust the amount of BirdsEye that you're trying to download. I believe the maximum you can select in one download is 250Mb.
You can manually "tile" the areas that you want to cover. Divide the area up into adjacent boxes (as large as you can make them without the message), and you can download as much as will fit on your card.
A Note Regarding the 64 Series and Micro SD cards...
As a side note regarding the 64 series and Micro SD cards...
The card slot/holder/latch is oriented "sideways" or horizontal as compared to the 62 series which was vertically oriented. As such, it is fairly easy to inadvertently unlatch the card (so it may become unseated) when changing batteries.
Didn't have that problem with my 62s.

I tried to put OSM maps on my SD Card as .IMG files. I had a 64gb card formatted as FAT32 and I have a 32gb card as well. The card only fills up about halfway 14 gb. But my 64ST wont read most of the maps. it only selcts a few maps for me to select in the setup map categories. To choose to disable and enable. It's not making sense. The card isn't full The GPS unit should be able to see all the maps installed.
I suspect depending on what maps you've installed you've exceeded the overall map tile limit. I think on your model it's 4000 map tiles. Some maps contain over a thousand map tiles. A solution is to reduce the number of maps or install smaller areas to reduce the overall total.
It will download to BaseCamp first. Then you copy it from BaseCamp into your device. Once it's downloaded, I just drag n drop from BaseCamp to the SD card.
