i hate Basecamp. I also hate the fact that Garmin's own tutorials are not even close to current (Come on Garmin, quit treating us like 3 year-olds!) I much preferred the old MapSoruce, which did what I wanted and simply too--but my Nuvi only runs off a USB port--which MapSource can't even see!. Basecamp is some of the poorest software I've ever experienced...do you detect my hatred for it??????

Can anyone recommend other software that works better? All I need is the ability to do automotive routing. I would even pay for the privilege........

    Which nuvi? All can be made to work with MapSource.

    But really BaseCamp is very simple although it works differently to MapSource and some struggle to make the transition. I haven't used MapSource for years and far prefer BaseCamp.

    I struggled with BC for a while. Now I use it for all my FINAL routes. I sometimes use MS to do an INITIAL planing of a trip, because I think I can do the planing quicker with MS than BC. I suggest you use the one that works best for you. The latest (?) maps 2016.20 work with MS as well as BC.
