Hope that BaseCamp defers as long as possible requiring Windows 10 as a pre-req

Given the issues around Windows 10, e.g. less user control on the update installation (depending on version i.e. Home, Pro, Enterprise), questions about the telemetry back to Microsoft about the user actions, and the dropping of long supported functionality e.g. Windows Media Center, I for one hope it is a VERY long time before installing the latest BaseCamp update requires Windows 10 as a pre-req operating system.

How do others feel about this?

    Not an issue for me!

As above, its not an issue for me at all.

Just installed the latest Win BC on Win 10 Pro Insiders Edition on a virtual machine (Virtual Box) on my older iMac and the only issue I have is that it will only run in 2D mode. The install went very smoothly.

Windows Media Center is gone. Been dying for a while.

Telemetry, such as it is, is being used to improve the product.

And finally, End of Life is coming for all Windows stuff before Win 10.

P.S. You can always change over to a Mac; BaseCamp is much prettier there :))

I still haven't had any reply from Garmin on getting BC 4.5.2 to install with Windows 10. Fortunately I'm still running BC 4.4.7 (released 5+ months ago).

There are a few reports of problems running on Windows 10, but we have many many thousands of users that are successfully running BaseCamp 4.5.2 on Windows 10.

Clearly, otherwise there would have been many many thousands of users complaining rather than just a few. But given that 4.4.7 works fine on W10 but >= 4.5.1 won't even install from the standalone EXE setup, is there any more information I can provide to help in fixing this isolated problem?
