Error: "No map products detected. Please install a map product to continue"

I installed Basecamp 4.5.2 in windows 10 end get this error when starting: "No map products detected. Please install a map product to continue". I tested to download it again but gets the same error.

What could be wrong?
  • Very strange, Basecamp installs its own basemap, so never heard of Basecamp throwing up this error before. Maybe one of the developers who pop in here occasionally may be able to help.

    This is indeed odd. There should be a "Maps" subfolder located under the BaseCamp executable. See the following path:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\BaseCamp\Maps

    Maybe there are some permissions issues that are preventing you from accessing this folder?
  • I just had the exact same issue. Did a fresh install of Windows 10 today and Basecamp 4.5.2.
    I found a file called Global_Application_Basemap_v2.tdb in the following folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\MapInstall\Maps\Global Application Basemap v2.gmap\Product1

    Right click on the file and select Open with.
    Then search for your Basecamp.exe which I found directly in the folder C:\Program Files not even in a Garmin folder...

    Once you have selected the Basecamp program then it will load the map.
    Unfortunately Basecamp didn't remember the map after I closed the program and opened it again. So I'll have to open the map file every time. :mad:

    BaseCamp and MapInstall should each have their own copies of that map, there should be a "Maps" subfolder under each application folder.

    When you say "fresh install of Windows 10", you mean that you didn't perform an upgrade to Windows 10... but formatted the system drive and started over? Normally I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling, but if you wiped the system drive a reinstall probably won't fix anything.
