Although I know I'm relatively new using BaseCamp, when I lost all my symbols after creating my waypoints and my route line changes from streets and highways to straight lines to each destination. What did I do wrong?
  • Difficult to know from what you say, can you give more information?

You may have selected the wrong map, or the wrong profile or ...

I have the City Navigator North America 2016.1 map, motorcycle profile (is that a profile?) and connecting to a Zumo 590.

I was able to create a route in Advanced using drag and drop assistant. I was able to drag & drop all waypoints into the assistant box complete with symbols. The assistant calculated the correct route, then I added an additional waypoint and the symbols disappeared and became bullets with the additional waypoint symbol remaining. All my route lines went from street by street to a straight line.

Also want to add that my Zumo came loaded with the CN Europe 2016 map and I added the CN North America onto a SD card. When building my route, I had the North America map selected, but wonder if the preloaded Europe might be my problem. Help!

To me it sounds like you might have switched to a non-routable map like the global map or you selected the 'Direct' activity. Select your route again and make sure you have the appropriate map selected (CNNA or CNE) and your activity is Motorcycle, then recalculate the route.

    Routing problem

Hi! I am using CN europe NT 2016.1 map and i face the following problem. According to the map in a specific area where there was constructions on the road the map avoid the area (up to here very good but), the last month the constructions are finished and the new road is routable but i cannot change my route that basecamp is giving to me even that i tried to input new waypoints etc. Please any help ? The avoidence are tool does not show anything is like does not working at all. Basecamp version 4.5.2
  • Until the route is updated in Basecamp if it shows as under construction then Basecamp won't route along it. You could get around that by creating a direct route at that point.

My question is can i change myself the under construction ? because the direct route option does not assure that the auto routing option will use it in the future
