  • It is not possible to install BaseCamp 4.5.0 on Windows 10

When trying to install, the installation program says I need Windows Media Player 11 or later, Windows 10 don't have Media Player and It's not possible to install it either.
  • BaseCamp crashes with eTrex 20
If I delete the GPX folder on the eTrex 20, BaseCamp will load once, but will crash when loaded again.
    Attached is the Crash report.

This will be fixed in 4.5.1.
  • Hi, I have a Garmin BMW Nav 5
This is a custom unit made by Garmin for BMW motorcycles that has controls built into the hand grips.

I just checked for updates but my software said no OS updates available. I am running Version 4.2.4 (4.2.4). It is buggy and I find it difficult to use. It's crashed twice. I'm running a macbook pro with 10.10.3 OS

I did update the map for NA. The system crashed twice and told me I didn't have enough disk space on the device so I rebooted the Garmin and got the updated maps for NA.
    My questions are:
    1. How can I get the right update or 4.5.1 if that is it?
    2. How can I delete addresses that Basecamp has populated that I don't want?
    Thanks
    Rob

You can get the latest BC here: http://www.garmin.com/en-US/shop/downloads/basecamp
The current version is 4.5.0, but 4.5.1 should be out hopefully by end of next week. 4.5.1.

You can delete waypoints in BC by right clicking on them and selecting 'delete from ...'. If the waypoint or route is on your device, then you need to delete them manually from the device itself. Only sync devices allow BC to delete data on them and I believe the BMW Nav 5 is a non-sync device.

    Basecamp 4.5.0 and Fenix 3

    @Wurth
Managing waypoints is working, thank you :-)
Transferring tracks to the watch does not reduce trackpoints. The watch has problems with big tracks, so this should be done. For now I transfer the tracks to a mounted dmg, then to the watch...
Deleting tracks (if the watch has the track on the internal memory, not in new folder) does not work, not a big problem

Problem with copying Adventures to eTrex 20

ok, I can now load BaseCamp without crashing with 4.5.1, but …
I'm now having trouble with copying Adventures to eTrex 20.
With BaseCamp, I created an Adventure, right-clicked and selected "Send to Device"
It transfers successfully, and if I look at the device folder, Garmin->Adventures, I see the files.

Now when I start the device I get "No Results Found Try Adjusting Search Parameters"
And if I look at the Folder Garmin->Adventures, the file is gone (erased when I started the eTrex 20)

Has anyone from Garmin answered this issue yet? Same issue with 4.5.2.

I managed to solve my problem with Windows Media Player 11 files not being installed; a prerequisite for BC 4.5.1 and later. It appears to only be a problem in a few countries but Garmin weren't able to offer any advise. Try this: Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > go down the list to Media features > Windows Media Player. After ticking this box I was able to install BC 4.5.2 without any problems. Best of luck.
