Import without recalculation?

It seems (perhaps I am wrong) that one of the changes to the latest versions of BaseCamp is that it now sends routes to my Zumo in such a way that they are no longer automatically loaded as-is but must go through an Import Data step with a forced Recalculation.

Is there a way to avoid this? There used to be.

The reason this is important to me is that I plan very long multi-hundred mile routes on back roads but only put in enough waypoints to get BaseCamp to calculate it right. Since the algorithm the GPS uses is slightly different, if it recalculates the route it will almost always have an error from my intent somewhere. Yes, I do realize that this can be mitigated by adding even more waypoints, at the cost of even more of my route development time.

Plus, even if there were no errors, the recalculation takes time that I'd just rather not wait on. When I started typing this message I had relented and accepted the Import Data option on my Zumo to get the routes in. It dutifully began loading all four routes, and right now is STILL on route 4 of 4, "Calculating Route: 0%". (I don't think it is wedged; it sat at 0% for a while for the first route too before I started writing this post.)

So, since I know based on past experience that my Zumo is capable of loading a route without recalculating it, how can I make Basecamp send it that way?

Thank you.
