Need to delete duplicate routes from Zumo device

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with Basecamp v Zumo. At first my route preferences wouldn't transfer. The reason given was that the route was created on a map that was not installed. I reinstalled the maps, but cannot now tell whether it has cured the issue as I appear to have accidentally created multiple duplicate routes - which I now do not seem to be able to delete from the Zumo. How do I get rid of them off the device?

Not Basecamp-related, but I cannot turn on the device while it is connected to my computer. It just shows as 'charging'. Is that normal?
