I have not been able to find a topic like this on this forum. Apologies if this topic has been covered elsewhere.
This topic has been discussed over on ZumoForums with little result.
In January of this year I migrated out of a MacBook Air running OSX 10.7.5 and Basecamp 4.2.4 and moved in to a new MacBook Pro currently running OSX 10.10.3.
On the new machine, I noticed that Basecamp was no longer displaying all of the fields in the track log records.
On the old machine, a log summary window displays the following fields for each record entry: Index, Time, Leg Distance, Leg Time, Leg Speed, Elevation, Leg Course and Position. Below detail records is a summary record for the Track. It displays the following fields: Points, Distance, Area, Elapsed Time, Avg. Speed, Ascent, Descent and Avg. Grade.
On the new machine, these records seem to have been truncated. The log summary window displays the following fields for each record entry: Index, Leg Distance, Leg Course and Position. Below detail records is a summary record for the Track. It displays the following fields: Points, Distance and Area.
The missing detail fields are: Time, Leg Time, Leg Speed and Elevation. The missing summary fields are: Elapsed Time, Avg. Speed, Ascent, Descent and Avg. Grade.
All of my historical track logs in the database display on the new machine with the truncated fields.
I can import a track from the Zumo and Basecamp displays it correctly on the new machine, even after the Zumo is disconnected. This was true in one testing session. The next day, the newly imported track records display incomplete.
I have backed up the current database on the new system running 10.10.3 and Basecamp 4.4.7. Sneaker netted it over to the old MacBook Air running 10.7.5 and Basecamp 4.2.4 and restored from backup. All tracks have complete data records.
I have tried removing and reinstalling Basecamp on the new machine. I trashed the app, user/library/application support/garmin/basecamp folder, user/library/preferences/com.garmin.basecamp.***, user/library/caches/com.garmin.basecamp folder.
I then re-installed Basecamp 4.4.7. The install looked clean. No database. Restored from backup and the tracks still do not show the whole records.
I have a practice of renaming log files so that I know which device they came from, rewrite the date so they sort better (yyyymmdd), preserve the time stamp and append a note if desired.
It has been suggested that this practice may be causing Basecamp to truncate these fields. My testing says this is not true.
I am thoroughly stumped at this point. Can any members or Garmin provide a clue?
