Questions about trip planner

Would it be a big deal to add a distance from route being use for the search along route and allow users to change the distance being searched? When you are using the "search near map center of map" in trip planner without "Search along the route being check, I assume this is the same search you get when you click the map and "Search for near by places..." popups. If I am using the search near center of map in trip planner, is there an easy way to click a search finding (waypoint) and see it on the map. If I select a find, the waypoint is added to my route. It there an modification key that will show me the selection on the map?

On the second part of the question, I discovered clicking more at the bottom of the list will bring up the search listing to the right of the map. Clicking a waypoint in the listing to the right of the map shows the object on the map.

I'll collect your request to customize along the route search distance, but I don't see this happening anytime soon based on other requirements. I believe that the search radius is 5 miles.

The search algorithm is just a little different when doing a search from the TripPlanner search field than when using the map popup search field. I believe the Trip Planner search weighs POIs that are more relevant to a trip a little higher than other POIs. Other than that, I believe the two types of searches are the same...
