Trails show in Basecamp, not on GPS handheld

I was viewing a trail in Basecamp using the 24K US West (from DVD) (Fresno Dome, eg, in CA). Fine.

I have the same map installed on my Oregon 600, but the same trail does NOT appear. Whaa?

I am using the same map on both, with no overlays or anything else (that I'm aware of). Max resolution, and same problem at any zoom. And note NO trail shows; but in Basecamp it's a routable trail.

Have you sent it to your GPS?

Sent the map? Yes, it's installed. The trail isn't one I created; it's part of US 24K Topo.

I reinstalled the maps and now the trail is showing. Dunno what was wrong.

BTW, I get TWO US 24k West maps showing on the device, one with "2" appended. Why 2?

Ah okay I misunderstood you. Glad it's now sorted.

As for the map, perhaps you have 2 maps installed? What files are in your Garmin folder?

As I said, it installs two:Topo US 24k West and Topo US 24k West 2; different sizes so they aren't the same file twice. And that's both the original installation and the reinstall on the handheld. On my computer I only have the one. I think I've figured it out though: probably it's a workaround the FAT32 file size limit.

In any case, the trail now shows up. I guess the reinstallation did it.
