New user attempting to create route from selected multiple waypoints

when I select my individual waypoints, click on file and create new route the option to create with selected waypoints is grayed out. I cannot find a reference to this with my search engine or the info wiki or the videos

any help is appreciated

Select waypoints, right click and use the context menu.

when I select all the waypoints then right click the menu I get does not show any route option. has stuff like send to, duplicate etc nothing about making a route out of these waypoints.

If I download basecamp and reinstall, will I loose waypoint and data in my collection. How can I find out the actual location in my drive where my collection is stored so I can copy that information off.

appreciate any help

Back to a question I should have asked first. What maps do you have installed? The included baseman in BasCamp is not a routable map.

I have the Garmin Mapsource US Topo maps. Garmin help desk sent me the procedure to load these CD's into my Garmin Folder. When I installed Basecamp I was able to use the same maps. I am able to see the waypoints on the map and I can do a route option that Base Camp offers from the start to end. But that is a straight line. My issue is I cannot add the waypoints into a route. What I am doing is building a route down the Smith river in Montana. I have the lat lons of the river camps on that river. The basecamp help says that if I select all the waypoints (which I did by holding down control key and clicking on all the waypoints (they turned blue) then going to file and selection new option I get a window that has
In black
List
List Folder
Garmin Adventure
Waypoint
Route
then grayed out
route using selected waypoints
Direct Route from selected track
back to black
Track
Birds Eye Imaging

I down loaded basecamp again and reinstalled it
Same results.

I appreciate your help as I have searched with google as to why these options are grayed out, no success.

Some of the Topo maps are not routable. I'm not familiar with all of the releases but IIRC, the only one that is routable is the 24K series.

I couldn't find those menu options until I realized you're using the Windows version of BaseCamp....
This forum section is for the Mac.

That said, It should work, even with a non-routeable map. My guess is that your selection doesn't contain only waypoints, but also one or more route(s) and/or track(s).

No, you won't. It wouldn't solve your problem though...
