viewing Geocaches in BaseCamp

I geocache using an Oregon 600. I download my caches (.gpx file) onto my navi using GSAK. When I connect to basecamp, I see all my waypoints and routes but no caches.
Any idea what’s wrong?
  • Thats disappointing. I use BC to plan routes around caches. Who puts 4 million caches on their handheld??

Nobody; geochaching.com has only 2,623,023 active geocaches ;)

Can the Oregon 600 still work with caches in GPX format or has that been stopped?
I want GPX back. limit me to 10K, thats fine :)

Yes, the Oregon 600 still supports GPX files with geocaches. I'm not sure how many; presumably 12,000, just like the Montana.

OK, found a simple way to tell GSAK to send my caches to my 600 in GPX format. GSAK puts the GPX file straight into the GPX folder on the 600, job done. As far as I can see, the GGZ and GPX data is displayed the same on the 600. BC can read and display the cache info like normal.

    Pocket query into GSAK
Filter the ones I want to do in GSAK
    Transfer GPX to 600
    Open in BC
    Plan my route.
    Transfer route to 600.

    Thanks for the help!
  • Glad it's resolved. I'll close this thread.
