I am using a Zumo 350LM on a motorcycle and the disobedience of the Trip Planner app is driving me mad! The major glitch, of several, is a tendency to ignore the route I have installed via Basecamp and simply hot foot to the destination by the most direct route available. In other words it over rides the planned route and does things like point me up the nearest motorway.

There are other issues but I'll start with this one. Huge thanks to anyone who can help with this issue.

I've had a similar issue on a Zumo 340 and asked the same question and got an answer like this........

If you've put a number of waypoints in when planning a route and select that route using trip planner you are presented with an overview of the route with the option to GO. When you press GO you're then presented with the waypoints you've created with the first one highlighted.

What I was doing was scrolling down to my destination, highlighting the destination and pressing START. What that seems to do is ignore all the waypoints and recalculates the fastest route.

I now leave that first waypoint highlighted and press START. So far that seems to be working.

Correct, you need to select the first destination you want to go to. If you select any other then your Zumo (and indeed it's the same for nuvis) will calculate a new route to that location and then follow the route from there to the end. Clearly if you select the final destination you'll get a completely new route.

On mine I select the route and get presented with the option to press "Go!". The next window "select next destination" has only the option to hit either the beginning or the end of the route. No option to highlight any Waypoints. The previous, in other words opening window, does show Waypoints, highlighting one only then gives the option to change, remove or rename the location

I suspect then that the intermediate points are shaping points and not via points. How are you creating the routes?

I don't think so. Perhaps it's a whole different format on the Zumo 350LM.

Not according to other Zumo owners. Again, how are you creating the routes?

Possibly that's the issue then.

IIRC, Tyre does not export the intermediate points, only the start and end. It then leaves the recalculation up to the device. A much better alternative is https://trips.furkot.com

Thanks for all the replies.

I will have a look at Furkot, Steve. (However not entirely sure I can trust a product with a name sounding like f***up!)

I apologise if I misled by saying I installed the trip via Basecamp, this particular problem came about after using Tyre. I have been struggling with Basecamp which is so unintuitive and glitchy it has pushed me to the brink of self harm. I thought Tyre was the answer to all my dreams. (sob!)
