Help creating Trip Planner with OSM maps: input locations not present

Hi All,
Once hit Trip Planner, inserting the date etc., I can not get the starting locations. Have a look at the attached image. I am having trouble uploading the png image so I am not sure if you can see it. Is there something I have to do to have the starting and destination input active?

It's a know issue that we will get a fix out for in the 4.4.8 release...

Hi,
When I enter the starting point and the ending destination Trip Planner generates a straight line between A and B instead of following the road routes.
Does anyone have any idea about this behaviour?

Anyone know of a workaround? Pretty worthless to have a navigation application that can't navigate. I can put up with the bugginess and crashes, but really....
