I have a Garmin Zumo 590LM. It's a great device. I wish its qualities extended as far Basecamp and the Basecamp / Zumo interface.
I create routes on Basecamp and then upload them to the device.
Every time I do the device creates new copies of the waypoints that were on the device previously, which means I have many different copies of the location of my Home. What is more the various routes uploaded all use different versions of the same points - so if I try deleting some of them I end up 'breaking' the routes that use them. It would seem the only way to avoid these problems is to delete all the routes, trips and favourites from the device before uploading new stuff - which makes a mockery of the idea that the software and device are some how related. It is also very tedious that the only way to delete entries is to do so on the device - what is the point of being able to see what is stored on the device from within Basecamp and then not be able to do anything about it!
So, is there any way around these problems? Is there another way to edit the information on the Zumo other than unplugging it turning it on and doing it manually? Is there better software to use in place of Basecamp?
I really feel that the unfinished feel / function of the Basecamp software lets down what is otherwise a very good product.
BTW I'm using Basecamp 4.4.6 on a Mac running OS X 10.10
