Joining tracks to lines into one

I did a forum search but I must be doing something different then what I've discovered on creating my route. I went through google earth and made a track I'm taking for my motorcycle. It's a good number of tracks I put together. After transferring them to basecamp. I wanted to join the selected tracks but when that happened. It gave me all type of different directions. Basically, basecamp was trying to reroute all of the tracks I input. I called Garmin and was to combine the tracks to a route but now I have a whole bunch of Lines. And then, when I went to combine the lines it went from this:

" />">

To This

" />">

So that doesn't seem right. I just trying to make one route to download on my GPS. I don't want 100 tracks that have to stop and find I go 100 feet or so. I must be missing something from somewhere on this. Hope this makes sense. Thanks guys.

    Hello Ron,

It is a rare occasion when you can select more than 3 tracks and have BaseCamp join them properly.

I have always had to join 2 then make sure they went together correctly. Then add the next to the first 2, etc.

If a track will not join you might need to invert (reverse) the direction then try joining again.

If this is a trip over several days I highly recommend you make a separate track for each day.

Are you going to send this track to a gps device?
  • Also be aware that Basecamp will join them in the order you select them, although on the Windows version you have the opportunity to change the order afterwards. I don't know if that latter option exists on a mac.
