Right click copy, paste in another folder, delete but deletes the original?

My first post so hello all!

Right here goes... in my collection i have numerous folders for different areas e.g. a Peak district folder with numerous tracks routes and waypoints in so when i want to go out for the day and do a certain track from that folder i right click on the track and paste it in a new folder in my collection. Now i have the new folder with the Peak district track in so then what i usually do is go back to my collection and right click copy all the way points i want for that day and paste them in the new folder, once i have done i then send to my device then go back and delete everything in the new folder but the problem i have now is when i delete it all from the new folder it is deleting all the originals, i have done it this way since using basecamp and i can not understand what is happening now???

    What method are you using to delete from the temporary folder? If you hit the Delete key with the waypoints selected, it will not remove the waypoints from your collection. If you right click and drag to Delete it won't either, but this can be risky because the next choice in the list is Delete from Collection, so an accidental twitch of the mouse may be the culprit?

    When you right click select "Remove from (name of list)" not "Delete". This will remove it from the list, delete will delete it so its no longer in the database.

    Are you sure we are talking about the Mac version of BC (which is what this section of the forum is for)?

    I see no such choice as "Remove from..." in the menu in BaseCamp 4.4.6.

    Sorry. I accidentally selected BC under Mac instead of Windows and didn't realize it util now when I couldn't find this post. My answer was for the windows version.
