Base Camp Trip Planner vs Nuvi Trip Planner - Times different

I noticed that elapsed trip times are slightly different between the same route planned on Base Camp vs Nuvi Trip Planner application I'm using version 4.4.6 of Base Camp and a Nuvi 2555 LMT. Settings on both the Nuvi and Base Camp are for a car driving and set to Fastest time. In all cases the elapsed trip times on the Nuvi are slightly longer in than those in Base Camp.

Not sure if the default speed settings are different between Base Camp and Nuvi. My Base Camp settings are set to default with +0 Kms under default speed adjustment.

Is there something I'm missing in Basecamp or Nuvi settings causing this or is this just something you have to live with.

Among the reasons this happens is that your GPS "learns" your driving habits, in the sense that it records your usual speed on the road and compares that to the road's classification (not always identical to the posted speed limit, but often the same) and calculates your ETA. BaseCamp has no such ability.

You can test this by doing a full reset on your nuvi and erasing all user data. It should then come closer to BC's estimate (though other factors will usually prevent it being a perfect match).
