Install Nuvi Map local to Basecamp???

Hello,

Currently using a Nuvi 1490 and latest BaseCamp on a Mac. All is good. I can access the Nuvi detailed map in Basecamp while the Nuvi is connected. Question: Can I copy/install the Nuvi 1490 CN North American NT map the Nuvi is using TO the Mac and BaseCamp? Reason being, it seems like the map access is fairly slow, my guess is it's because BaseCamp is reading off of the connected USB mounted drive. Also, in BaseCamp I can not access that map unless the Nuvi is connected via USB.

Would like to have the Nuvi CN North American map local to BaseCamp, and my very fast SSD drive ;-)

Assuming you have lifetime maps just run Express and under Advanced Options choose Install to mac.

And yes, I have lifetime maps. That worked perfectly, the map is now installed on the Mac. Well done, thank you for tip.

Should these instructions still work? I am trying to do this same procedure on a different Mac, I bring up Garmin Express but am not finding any Advanced Options to do Install to Mac (in Garmin Express).
