Reducing the size of my database and database cache

Hi

My database is currently weighing in at 3.1 Gbs. I have folders named 3.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4. Looking at the creation and last modified dates the 3.3 - 4.3 folders have older versions of the database - would I be right in thinking that and that I can simply trash them? Also I have four libraries - if say I haven't opened a particular library in 4.4 will it still be included in the database?

My com.garmin.Basecamp cache folder is 2.19 Gb. If I delete the older versions of the database will the cache automatically shrink to reflect that - or should I trash it and log out and back in again.

You can delete the older databases if you no longer need them. Not sure about the cache :confused:

Thanks for the amazingly fast reply (Garmin should be paying you).

I wonder if anyone can comment on the cache. I'm thinking that the worst case would be that it takes a little time to rebuild itself (OK, maybe that's the optimistic worst case).

A quick update (if anyone else is interested) most of that 2Gb in the cache is the tile cache which I had set to 1991Mb. Whether I'd be better off slimming that down I don't know.
