Birdseye view problem

I have the Montana 650t, mac OS 10.9.4, latest base camp software and cannot get Birdseye Select to display in Basecamp. I have available credit, I can select the area, the blue box displays on the screen, I get the window confirming my device, I click "show on map" and get nothing. Tried everything I can think of, re-loaded etc... any clues?
  • When you say you 'can't get it to display in Basecamp' what exactly do you mean? Has the map actually downloaded to your Montana and is it viewable there or is it simply that you cannot download it at all?

I can see it in my map setup and I can enable it. I cannot view birdseye on my device or in base camp.....
  • Ah OK. In that case to view them in Basecamp connect your Montana, and then drag/drop the Birdseye files from your Montana into a list in Basecamp. That will enable you to use them in Basecamp.

If they're enabled on your Montana you may need to zoom in to see them, and/or disable other maps.

Firstly, thanks for your help on this one. Just tried as you suggested. I opened a new list "on my computer" then I dragged the Birdseye file from my device into the new list. Unfortunately still not working. If I double click the Birdseye file now on my computer (and it is enabled on my device) I get the window stating my device, I have dragged the "draw order" unto 100 but when I click on "show on map" although the button turns blue i.e. it recognises I've selected it, nothing happens, it doesn't display.....
  • Well two things come to mind. Either the file is corrupted or it's not a Birdseye Select file unlocked for your device?

can i ask the obvious question - any suggestions what I could try next...? I tried the Garmin technical help desk and had no success there, other than I've forked out £60 now on Birdseye credits with no result........!
  • What happened when you 'tried the Garmin desk'?

Not a helpful experience, I ended up writing a letter of complaint for which I have yet to receive a response. Without going into too much detail a summary would be - I spoke to the Help desk three times; first time apparently I had downloaded Birdseye Satellite and not Select, but the Birdseye Satellite didn't work either (same issues), second time was on on hold whilst the technician went off to get a Montana 650t but didn't return and third time spoke to a young lady who best said should not be working on a help desk, but does need some anger management therapy......!
  • Well the Basecamp developers pop in here every so often, they may be able to help.

Ok thanks - I've racked my brain and tried everything I can think of and can't think of anything else I can try, it just doesn't work.... I have some credits which I'll keep unless you or someone else has a bright idea..... thanks for you help to date though, appreciated....
