v4.4.2 Routing Issues

There are known routing issues with 4.4.1 for Windows as well. Garmin is aware of them.

Edit a Route and the edited (inserted) Via Point and resulting new Route segment becomes a Direct Route segment. Nothing I have found will alter that condition.

I'm not seeing this on my iMac Dan. Both newly created routes and existing routes edit and extend as expected. I'll check one of my MacBooks next.

Well, i see this on both Win-BC and Mac-BC. I just exchanged dialog with someone on ADVrider and they have the same issue on Win-BC. So, I don't think it's just my installation(s).

Also, check your routes carefully, sometimes the Direct segment is only a partial segment.

Bingo. I'm seeing it now and you're right, sometimes the straight segment is only a couple of km long. Easy to miss on a 1000 km route.

If you see this, insert a new point just before or after the troubled part and delete the old via-point solves it for me in windows.

You can also move the existing viapoint futher on the road to the point the direct stops.

Doesn't work on Mac-BC for me.

I spent a half hour with Garmin tech as they used TeamViewer. They acknowledge the problem and a case has been opened. Either wait for the update and use the waypoint workaround, or uninstall 4.4.x and re-install BaseCamp 4.3.4 until the update is released. (Don't forget to backup, or export your "Collection" to a gpx file first. :rolleyes:
