I created a small 10 mile trip on BaseCamp, with a start, a single waypoint, and a destination. I then transferred it to my nuvi 650. When I installed it in my car and selected the destination, the nuvi recalculated the route, completely ignoring the waypoint. What am I doing wrong/how can I fix it?
IIRC the 650 doesn't do 'routes', and even if it does that's not the way to use them.
Look under Tools, My Data ... is there an Import Routes option? If not your nuvi can't read routes imported from Basecamp, or indeed any other program.
Thanks for your reply. You're right - in fact there is no "My Data…" item under tools, and no "Import Routes" option in any of the tools that are there. I am confused by your comment "….. and even if it does that's not the way to use them." Just what do you mean by that? Isn't one of the functions of BaseCamp to create custom routings on your computer that can be downloaded to and used on your Garmin? And if so, just what is the correct "way to use them"?
By that I meant selecting the final destination. You need, having imported it, to select the route, which you can't as your nuvi doesn't 'do routes'. See here for devices that do and how you import/read them
