Transferring a collection of tracks and routes to an Edge 800

I've compiled a collection of tracks and routes using Basecamp to compile one long course of over 300km along trail and road. I have all of these in a 'List' folder and want to transfer them as one whole course to my Garmin Edge 800. Every time I 'Transfer to Device' I either get nothing transferred or just get what seems like a random collection of the tracks and or routes from the 'List' folder. How do I transfer a collection of tracks and routes as one whole course to a device so they're displayed as ONE course?
  • To do that you'll need to join them in Basecamp. Select the ones to join then right click and select 'join selected tracks'.

Edit: Just realised this posted in BC mac forum. You may find joining tracks slightly different.

I know how to join tracks cmd+J on a MAC. Problem is I've compiled a collection of Tracks and Routes, so was looking for a way to transfer them to a device. Assuming I have to join them in some way before transferring them?

Looks like my only options are:
    1. Compile the whole 200mile course as a track - v time consuming.
    2. Compile as a Route, but when I get to an "off-road" section use the "Direct" routing mode. Problem with this option is BC confines individual "Direct" sections to 50 points, so these have to be simple and reasonable short. No good if the track follows miles of trail :-(

    Any more ideas?
  • Then the mac must be different, no limit on the number of track points in Basecamp.

Either way if you want them as one whole route/track you need to join them before sending to your Edge.

Convert all routes to tracks, make a separate list to drag all track to, more clear map now, and then join all tracks to one track.

Be sure that the direction of all tracks is the same!

Then send the combined track to the Edge, it will be shown as one course in the Edge 800. If the course is very long, then be sure to switch off navigation in the settings of this course.
